Introducing Lucent360™

The World’s Most Advanced Photoreactor

What gives us the confidence to make such a bold claim?

The Lucent360™ patent-pending design provides the most flexibility for parallel, large batch and flow photochemistry.

Reaction vials (0.3, 2, 4, 8 or 20 ml) are immerged in a thermostatic bath controlled via an external heater/ chiller unit, enabling temperature controlled experiment conditions.

Light irradiation is provided by custom, interchangeable and high-powered LED light modules that surround the reaction chamber. Our multi-light screener enables multiple wavelengths and multiple light intensities, simultaneously.

US Patent #11,992,819

EvoluChem™ Brand Photoreactors

(US Patent #10,906,022)
photoredox box

PhotoRedOx Box™

Our original photoreactor’s patented design is compatible with most vial formats (0.3 ml, 2 ml, 4 ml and 20 ml vials) as well as most stirring plates. A built-in fan keeps the reaction conditions at room temperature. Several light source options are available.

PhotoRedOx Box Duo

PhotoRedOx Box Duo™

The PhotoRedOx Duo™ uses the same patented concept as our original photoreactor but doubles the vial capacity and includes an additional reaction chamber. The photoreactor Duo can hold up to 16 vials (2, 4 or 8 ml) and can accommodate a second light source for increased reaction rates of difficult reaction conditions.

PhotoRedOx Box TC

PhotoRedOx Box TC™

Also based on our patented design, the TC (Temp Controlled) version, with a standard chiller/heater unit (not included), makes it possible to perform photo-catalytic reactions at controlled temperatures from 0°C to 80°C.

EvoluChem™ Photochemistry Starter Bundles

Photochemistry Starter Bundles

Everything you need to get started

EvoluChem Photochemistry Starter Bundles include everything you need to set up your lab and further explore the opportunities inherent with photochemical reactions. Starter Bundles are available with any of our four photoreactors PhotoRedox Box, PhotoRedOx Box TC, PhotoRedOx Box Duo, and Lucent360 either with or without sample reactions

EvoluChem™ Brand LEDs

EvoluChem™ LEDs

EvoluChem™ LEDs are designed specifically for photo-catalytic chemistry applications. They fit all EvoluChem™ PhotoRedox boxes and are designed to irradiate samples with maximum efficiency.

The commercial-grade LED chips are selected for specific wavelengths and are offered at the following levels: 365 nm, 380 nm, 405 nm, 425 nm, 450 nm, 475 nm, 525 nm, 650 nm, 740 nm, and 6200K white.

RedLightLED

RED and NIR LEDs

Our latest addition to the family of EvoluChem™ LEDs is our 650PF (pictured above) which enables red light photochemical reactions. We also offer 740nm NIR.

We examine several advances in Red Light Photochemistry here.

Photo Chemistry Lights

DX Format LEDs

While most of our LEDs are standard (Par) format, our DX series LEDs are fitted with a more powerful 30W power supply but still fit all EvoluChem™ Photoreactors.

Personal Protective Equipment

A picture of an orange screen with a photoreactor.

High-powered LED light sources, particularly in the UV spectrum, are known to be damaging to your eyes. We offer special glasses and safety screens to protect your eyesight during reactions.

We also offer hoods for your vial holders to eliminate light from outside the reaction chamber.

Setup & Documentation

Scientific Literature

Pulsed-Light Photochemistry: Yes, No or Maybe?

Pulsing light in a photocatalysis reaction is like flipping on the strobe lights at a party—but can it shift the vibe enough to change outcomes? Inspired by a recent study, this month we take you for a spin on this experimental dance floor.

Photochemistry of the Rainbow: Synthesis from Purple to Red

This month, we look at purple and red LEDs and everything in between. The world is full of color so why is everyone so blue?

Catching up with the Lucent360™

At midyear 2024: we feature 3 papers, highlighting key uses for the Lucent360™: Reaction method development, Scale up in batch, and Photochemistry in flow.

Photocatalytic Radiolabeling with 18F in Flow

Flow photochemistry in the PhotoRedOx Box™ is Hot as F! This month, we feature novel photoredox induced fluorination for radiolabeling a wide range of pharmaceutically relevant small molecules.

Metal-free “metal-catalyzed” reactions: Serendipitous Impurities in Photocatalysis

A metal-free, metal-catalyzed reaction? Confused? Sounds like a contradiction? Chemistry is rife with examples of trace metal impurities playing an unwelcome (or occasionally key) role in transition metal catalysis.

Accessories

A group of three different holders on top of each other.

Photoreactor Vial Holders

These holders are designed for our PhotoRedOx Box™ HCK1006-01-016, our PhotoRedOx Duo™ HCK1006-01-023, and our PhotoRedOx TC™ HCK1006-01-025. They are compatible with most vial formats (0.3 ml, 2 ml, 4 ml and 20 ml vials). (Patent Pending)
